Ramadan Gems (day 26: Last Ten Nights)

Assalamualaikum everyone! Today I wish to give you another set of verses in the Quran i.e from Surah Ad-Dukhan where Allah mentions about the night of Qadr, it’s importance and as to what happens this night. This should serve as a motivation for you and me to do our best, as it is another odd night today.

Surah Ad-Dukhan,.  verses:

Ref:- Tafseer Ibn Kathir

44:3 Undoubtedly We sent it down in a blessed night; verily We are to warn.

44:4 Therein (that night) is decreed every matter, Hakim.

44:5 A command from Us, Verily, We are ever sending.

44:6 A mercy from your Lord, undoubtedly, He, Hears, knows.

The Qur’an was revealed on Laylatul-Qadr:

44:3 :-

“We sent it down on a blessed night. Verily, We are ever warning.”

Allah tells us that He revealed the Magnificent Qur’an on a blessed night, Laylatul-Qadr (the Night of Decree), as He says elsewhere: –“Verily, We have sent it down in the Night of Al-Qadr”, (97:1)

The remaining part of the verse “Verily, We are ever warning.”
means, telling them what is good for them and
what is harmful for them, according to Shariah,
so that the proof of Allah may be established
against His servants.

“Therein (that night) is decreed every matter, Hakim.”
means, on Laylatul-Qadr, the decrees are
transferred from Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz to the
(angelic) scribes who write down the decrees of
the (coming) year including life span, provision,
and what will happen until the end of the year.
This was narrated from Ibn Umar, Mujahid, Abu
Malik, Ad-Dahhak and others among the Salaf.

The word (Hakim) means decided or confirmed, which
cannot be changed or altered.

Allah says:

“As a command from Us.”
meaning, everything that happens and is decreed
by Allah and the revelation that He sends down —
it all happens by His command, by His leave and
with His knowledge.

“Verily, We are ever sending”,
means, to mankind, sending Messenger who will
recite to them the clear signs of Allah.
The need for this was urgent.

“(As) a mercy from your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Hearer,
the All-Knower.”

means, the One Who sent down the Qur’an is the
Lord, Creator and Sovereign of the heavens and
the earth and everything in between them. (From verse 7).

So to summarise:

44:3– The Quran was revealed on this blessed night, the night of Qadr(decree, power, honor). Also Quran is a warner which has all the instructions and commands from Allah and is a complete code for believers.

44:4– The decree of Allah regarding man’s life span, provision and all such things will be transferred from Lauhul Mahfuz to the angels who write it down. And Allah uses the terminology “amrin hakeemin” meaning commands or decree that cannot be altered, changed.

44:5– Every command executed is by the will of Allah, His leave and His knowledge. And Allah specifies that He sends Messengers to the mankind to explain His clear signs.

44:6– All this is a mercy from Allah and He is the All knower and All Hearer.

Allah is the All Hearer so pray to your Master, ask for forgiveness, ask for all your needs of this word and also for the hereafter..

Salam 🙂
