SAHIH BUKHARI ~
Volume 1, Book 2, Number 38 :
Narrated by Abu Huraira
The Prophet said, “Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshiping in the mornings, the nights.” (See Fath-ul-Bari, Page 102, Vol 1).
This is where most of us go wrong!! We take Islam to be very difficult.. We mostly be to the extremes of either good or bad.. There are people who are extremists and consider this world to be absolutely nothing… Such people, disrespect others, who choose carriers that are not related to Islam , because they have a delusion that when we are Muslims we should only stick to things that teach us Islam!! …
It is a fact to be considered that as Muslims we should have sound knowledge of our religion and also everything we do in our life should be a way to please Allah (Azzawajjal), but it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be bothered about this world..
And then on the other hand there are people, who are also extremists and consider this world to be their everything!!! Their only motive is to earn and spend till they die.. they are not bothered to please their Master rather they worry about their money, status and luxuries to impress the people around them.. Such people demean and belittle those who put efforts to please their Master!! The above hadith clearly states that “We have to have balance”.. check these verses of The Quran :
[Quran 7:32] Say, “Who prohibited the nice things God has created for His creatures, and the good provisions?” Say, “Such provisions are to be enjoyed in this life by those who believe. Moreover, the good provisions will be exclusively theirs on the Day of Resurrection.” We thus explain the revelations for people who know.
[Quran 6:32] The life of this world is no more than illusion and vanity, while the abode of the Hereafter is far better for the righteous. Do you not understand?!
The first verse clearly indicates that Allah(Azzawajjal) has not prohibited us to enjoy the provisions of this world.. Then look at the second verse.. It gives us a strict reminder that the life of this world is nothing but “illusion”.. This might create a bit of confusion in our minds . while on one hand Allah(Azzawajjal) tells us to enjoy the provisions of this world and on the other hand He warns us and explains that this world nothing more than “vanity”.. question marks ???? This is where we should understand the balance Allah(SWT) is pointing out in His words!!
We should prevent ourselves from inclining towards any extremes, instead we should have a balance and this balance can be achieved by having righteousness. and righteousness can come when we follow The Quran and the hadith..
Stay tuned for my next post to experience the elegance and beauty of The Quran.
